On the way to work this morning I saw a F-350 Ford van that claimed to be a hydrogen-hybrid powered. I thought that it was interesting that the person had to advertise this on their van. I guess they were advertising those HHO kits. The jury is still out on those HHO kits on if they do what they claim, or are even good for your car long term. I think I will put signs on my car that says its potato powered.

I'm with you! I am doing my own research on the claims. I understand the process or chemistry behind it, just not sure if the technology is ready. It has to be better than sticking corn in the engine.

Hey, so yeah the HHO stuff does work to an extent (unless it's a pure H powered engine). It gives a modest increase in mileage, but not worth dumping more than $200 into a system. When you add hydrogen to the mix you're increasing the efficiency of the chemical reaction when combustion occurs. However, under load (i.e. heavy acceleration) you'll get dismal results. Mixing H into the air of a gasoline powered engine is only good for reducing pollutants, if you like to idle your engine for extended periods of time, or if you just like to have a hobby.
If you're looking for better gas mileage and want to spend lots of money, get a proven system that was independently tested for it's mileage increase by a reputable research company --not Bob's HHO system tested by Bob's brother-in-law who works at KFC by day.
