Bad Blogger Update Time

I have been a very bad blogger and have not updated in a while. So here is a quick run down of events that have happened.

1. Bought a Jeep wrangler

2. Went to Fl a bunch! Sept to go on a 3 day dive trip, Oct for 4 days to go to Dawn and Kens wedding and Nov, for Thanksgiving.

You can get any flavor of gas you like in FL.

We rode the new simpsons ride at universal. They replaced back to the future. Its really a great ride. Lots of fun action and jokes.

Well thats about it. I am sure there are alot of goofy things that have happened since my life is full of goofy stuff, but I just wanted to do get the big stuff out. More updates to come.

Weird thing time

I was driving down the interstate going home and I saw this weird thing on a flat bed truck. I am not really sure what it is but it looked very interesting! Take a guess

Office Food Pet Peeve Time

Who does this? This is one of my biggest pet peeves around the office, more so than taking the last paper towel and not replacing the roll. Do you think that someone is going to say wow great 1/4 of a bagel that's been man handled, thats exactly what I want! This seems to happen all the time whenever any food is put out. I have news, it just gets thrown away, no one ever eats the left over man handled piece. Would you? If yes then just take it with you. The only time this is acceptable is when two people agree on splitting something and both taking the pieces with them. For all I know that piece landed on the floor and you put it back. Yes this does happen you would be surprised.

H20 Time

On the way to work this morning I saw a F-350 Ford van that claimed to be a hydrogen-hybrid powered. I thought that it was interesting that the person had to advertise this on their van. I guess they were advertising those HHO kits. The jury is still out on those HHO kits on if they do what they claim, or are even good for your car long term. I think I will put signs on my car that says its potato powered.

April 95 - Sept 08

Einstein Bro Bagles

I will tell you this much there is not an Einstein among any of them. It should be as simple as taking my order and then reading the screen to know what to put in the bagel box. Instead I had a mouth breathing button masher on my hands in control of taking my order. I asked for 1 doz bagels and a large Coke, seen below from the list, except for the Spinach, I asked for Dutch Apple. I got to the register and my list of bagels was correct except for the Spinach, not the Dutch apple I asked for, but it was for 2 doz and coffee. I said, No I only wanted 1 doz and a coke. Everything seemed ok, but when I go to work there was no salt bagels. I love salt bagels, that was the whole purpose of stopping to get bagels.
Thanks Einsteins you have done it again!!!! Please change your name to Lloyd and Harry bagels.

Card reader time

Somebody is really excited about coming to work today. Sometime between 6:00 and 7:50 someone ripped the card reader off the wall. I wonder if maybe they forgot their card and tried to use their Macgyver skills to hack their way in. Don't worry we know who did it, you better confess so you don't have to suffer unnecessary ridicule.. Lobby cam

Rafting Time

This weekend we went rafting, this time we did the Chattoga river.My Friends Jose and Jen came up from FL. Here are some quick pics from the trip. We took one of those disposable cameras. (I didn't get my Olympus water proof camera yet) Hopefully the pictures come out.

Black Hole Time

Cant we all just get along? I wish the world were a better place, but sometimes people just make things difficult.

"It sounds like central collections has become a black hole" Sounds innocent right?
Last time I checked this was An area of space-time with a gravitational field so intense that its escape velocity is equal to or exceeds the speed of light. Or A great void; an abyss....

Polar bear time

Over the weekend the lobby got painted. The colors of reminds me of the Arctic. I was thinking about that arctic ride at Sea World. Someone turned the air down to -10. I think there was a polar bear wondering around

Sunday Time

I really think that turtle sundays are my favorite sunday. Something about the combinations of ice cream, caramel and sweetened pecans is so good.

New Truck Time and Transmission

I got a new truck, Chevy Avalanche!!. Its very nice and just like I thought, you can get a deal if you are going to get a gas guzzler.I was going to see about trading my Blazer in but it has a "service engine soon" light on and I didn't want them to knock money off the Blazers value. I took it to Advanced Auto Parts and for free they will check your cars computer. Most car places charge you $70-$90 to do this. So with 1 month left 2200 miles left it needs a new transmission because the parts to repair it cost just as much as a new one. There is a lesson somewhere in all this.

1.The Blazer drives fine and you would never be able to tell that there is anything wrong with it. 2. If your "service engine soon" light is on, it really can be something serious.

3. Don't procrastinate if you have an extended warranty.

So right now my truck is at the Chevy dealer and the warranty people are sending a claims adjuster to look at it. I guess to see if they are really going to cover it. I had never purchased an extended warranty in the past because in FL I has some good connections to get things fixed,but here, not so much. Needless to say I bought an extended warranty on my new truck and still spent less than I had planned. Oh yeah, April and Kim I will make sure and drive my big car on days that we work out.

Gas Guzzler Time

I had a thought last week. I used to have a truck when I first moved up to GA. It always seemed to come in handy, but I owed too much on it and just wanted to get out of it. So I sold it and bought a blazer for cash. No car payments for 2 years that was nice. But I am getting to the point were I feel a truck would come in handy. I do know people that have trucks, but I am not a person that is going to call them up all the time and ask if they can help me.Asking someone if you can use their truck also says, "hey I got this heavy thing and I want YOU to come help me lift it." Plus you have to do it on their schedule.
I can think of 5 projects that I need to do that will require a truck.
1. remove swing set from townhouse
2. bring in some fill dirt to the house
3. haul off some yard clean up town house and our house
4. bring home wood for deck/remove old decking
5. Remove unwanted stuff from the house.

I was thinking about getting a trailer, but then thats just something else I need to store at the house and there is a tree in the way for easily getting things in and out of the yard.

So... Grant, I am going to go and look at some trucks this week. I am going to take advantage of the fact the gas is very expensive and No one wants a gas guzzler. Trucks have dropped in price and I feel I can get a good deal. I dont have to drive it everyday since I have a car that gets pretty good gas mileage.

24 hours of Florida

I am living the rock star life. This weekend we went to Fl for 24 hours. We left saturday at 1 and came back sunday at 2. It was a good time. We got to visit with my family and see some friends> I got to go to my local hang out. http://www.independentbar.net/ People said thats crazy going there for such a short time..... is it really? The tickets were cheap, the rental car was cheap. Normally we drive 7hours there for such a short amount of time and we are very tired when we get home but this was nice getting home and not being totally exhausted from a 7 hour drive home.
I did wish that we had a bit more time so that I could have seen everyone, maybe next time. Hey If I didnt get to see you maybe you should come to GA.

Music Time

Well a lot of things have happened over the past month or so. I went on vacation to NYC and Boston. I just haven't really had the time to blog about it. But today I got a quick second to write something. Recently, I have noticed this guy outside of my office window that is practicing his clarinet, er oboe, er recorder, I cant tell from where I am. Even my 5x zoom couldn't get close enough to tell. He must be really bad if he is having to practice on his lunch break on the top of a parking deck. Maybe I will find the time to write about my trip. I have been a bad blogger. :(

Dirt Bike Time

Saturday we went to Highland Park to do some dirt bike riding. It was a bit cold (34) but once you got riding it was not so bad. Mein Hans had a great time playing in the mud. http://18and5.blogspot.com/ I did pretty good considering that 5 seconds in I pulled a muscle in my back. I still got a good day of riding out of it. Good times.

Captiva Island Time

Well I missed the second showing of snow in the ATL. I was at Captiva Island in south west FL. Its a very cool island just north of Sanible Island. It takes about an hour to get there from the Ft Myers airport. I arrived Friday and made it back Sunday night. I had a really great room that looked out into the harbour of the resort. The resort does look a bit dated with that 70-80s contemporary style especially around the conference area and front desk. Later I found out that hurricane Charley leveled most of the resort and they rebuilt it back to its exact charming 70-80s dated looking contemporary style. Nice, I think the website for the resort describes it as being posh....Not so much. don't get me wrong my room was very nice and comfortable, but there are 100 other places in FL that look just like it. If you love old FL charm this is the place for you. If not I recommend the Ritz Carlton in Sarasota FL.

Winter Time

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whew, we survived Winter Watch 2008! It was scary, first it got really cold. Then this white flaky stuff started falling from the sky. Soon it was all over the ground. I turned on the news to see if the local media knew about this. Every channel was covering this story, they had reporters on the scene picking up this stuff off the gound. Hmmm I thought, this must be the end of the world. the ticker at the bottom of the TV was saying how schools and businesses are closing because of this flaky white stuff. Then the reporter urged everyone to stay inside. Oh no!!! I thought. There really must be trouble. But then it turned out it was just snowing..

Happy New Years Time!!!

Ok what did you do for New Years? For the second time in a row we went to Trader Vics. This was really a great time. The music is great and the atmosphere is great too. Its not so in your face, but full of friendly faces. I highly recommend this as a New Years Eve destination. Who is with me for next year?

Crazy House Christmas Time

We took a trip to Fl for Christmas. We were only there for 3 days but crammed so much in. So Sunday we went over to see my Friend Matt and Jodie they used to be my Neighbors when I lived in Winter Park. We went to what we called "The Crazy House" where we used to live. Believe me when I say this these pictures do not do this justice.
